Development and Fundraising Lead – Voluntary

About Us:

Black Men Teach is committed to increasing the representation of Black men and boys in the education system. Our mission is to raise the profile of teaching among Black males and create space for Black boys to thrive. We are dedicated to challenging stereotypes and providing Black males with the support and resources needed to succeed in education. By joining us as a Development and Fundraising Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial sustainability of our mission.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Development and Fundraising Lead, you will:

• Lead all fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor relations, and fundraising events.
• Develop and implement strategies to secure funding from various sources, including foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.
• Identify new fundraising opportunities and create innovative approaches to reach financial goals.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to align fundraising efforts with the organisation’s overall strategy.

Key Skills and Qualities:

We are seeking a Development and Fundraising Lead with the following skills and experience:

• Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations.
• Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to develop and execute successful fundraising strategies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage supporters.
• Ability to build and nurture relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.
• Passion for promoting diversity and inclusion in education, with a focus on supporting Black men and boys.
