About Us:
Black Men Teach is committed to increasing the representation of Black men and boys in the education system. Our mission is to raise the profile of teaching among Black males and create space for Black boys to thrive. We are dedicated to challenging stereotypes and providing Black males with the support and resources needed to succeed in education.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a Partnerships and Community Engagement Lead, you will:
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with schools, community organisations, the corporate sector and key stakeholders to foster trust and collaboration.
- Developing Partnerships: Identify and cultivate partnerships that align with BMT’s goals, ensuring mutual benefits and long-term collaboration. This could involve setting up collaborations for programs, securing resources, or expanding the organisation’s reach.
- Expanding Organisational Reach: Strategically engage with new communities and stakeholders to grow the organisation’s influence and presence, ensuring the BMT mission resonates with a broader audience.
- Supporting Program Goals: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that partnerships directly support the achievement of program objectives and enhance impact.
Key Skills and Qualities:
We are seeking a Partnerships and Community Engagement Lead with the following skills and experience:
- Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to establish trust and rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders, fostering long-lasting relationships.
- Community Engagement: Experience in engaging with local communities, understanding their needs, and building initiatives that resonate with them.
- Partnership Development: Expertise in identifying potential partners and creating mutually beneficial agreements that align with both organisational and community goals.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for engaging with partners, stakeholders, and communities effectively.
